At Arizona Institute of Medicine & Surgery (AIMS), we proudly provide affordable, quality medical care to the greater Kingman Community ever since our inauguration on April 16, 1994.

Our founding physician,  M. Azam Khan, M.D., FACS had always envisioned a facility and work environment where quality yet affordable healthcare  could be provided to a diverse patient population in an ambulatory setting and providing a wide variety of services to all patients in need of medical care. Dr. khan does not believe in refusing medical services to anyone, friend or foe, regardless of their ability to pay. Dr. A. Khan graduated from King Edward Medical College, Pakistan in 1970 and moved to New York City in 1971 to begin his surgery Residency. He was recognized as the best resident in  his department of surgery in 1976 and was offered a position at Misericordia Hospital Medical Center (now a part of Montefiore medical center in Bronx, New York. Despite the alluring teaching atmosphere and following the suggestion of a friend and classmate to visit a small town off Historic Route 66 in Northern AZ, Dr. Khan decided to settle down in Kingman, AZ in July 1977. At the time, the surrounding tristate region was starting to grow and with that growth it was in need of a greater selection of quality medical providers. Dr Khan helped recruit a number of physicians to Mohave County. Many of them have been active and have thankfully contributed a lot to the health and well being of this community. There is a stated belief that Kingman was blessed to have received the services of such a concerned and skilled professional and a community oriented physician who had a grander vision for what medicine should be in this small town in Arizona.

That vision is yet another aspect which sets us apart here at AIMS as it enables us to provide high-quality medical care to our patients. We pride ourselves in stating the fact that the quality of care we provide typically matches that of much larger facilities. We strive to present ourselves as caring, courteous and qualified professional at all levels — from our front office to the back office, as these are core areas where quality needs to be maintained. We are proud of our well educated staff who help foster the vision and models on which AIMS was built.
